A New Day

Miercoles, Mayo 3

Done. Fin. Ended.

It is with great relief that I lift the yoke off my back and am able to anounce that as of yesterday, I have finished my new novel, The Wish Thief. The creation of the book was something of a surprise for me, as it was not what I had planned on working on while here in South America, but the muse often shapes us in ways we don't expect.

I will not, of course, let any amount of glee keep me from my next project and so today I face another blank page whose words have yet to be decided. But that is the pain and joy of the process. Discovering how the palabras will fall.

Gracias, por todo la ayuda que cada uno me ha dado..

- Caleb

"Thank you, for everything the help that each one has given to me, especially my love that it will not allow me to obtain too distantly far from my work "

I think that's what you said...

yep, except no 'it'. :) I just added a word to make more sense to an english translation. plus ya gotta reverse some words to make the translation work in english. like 'far' would come before 'distance'. plus 'allow' could be read as 'let'. also, 'conseguir' translates as 'obtain' or 'get', so I should have used 'consiga' I think, whereas 'obtain' is also 'obtenga'.

    funny little language, spanish.

    so the translation should be:

Thanks, for all the help that everyone has given me, especially my love that she will not let me get too far a distance from my work.

(thanks for making me think on this more, mike.)

whats all this about 'ordinary talent'? :)

Your dreams have and are your reality. That's perserverance. Don't take that talent lightly. Your writing talent is just an afterthought/dessert.
.. and I hope you've tipped your bartender well... :)

There is a poem called the Wish Theif by Alison McNamara. It talks about someone stealing the coins from a fountain that people throw their wishes into. Can't wait to read yours. Ok, now i have to stop b/c i am using your website as a new article to obsess over so as to procrastinate studying!! Time to hit the books for real. Exams tomorrow.
    Namaste, Nicole

I can play this game too!

Cómo convengo. Entender el sino de su dirección lejos fuera de pesaría los sacrificios hechos a lo largo de la manera. Pero entonces, qué diversión que sea.
